I didn't find what I am looking for.
I already have a lawyer and the ONLY reason I want to file myself is because I am fed up in chasing lawyers, my company etc. They don't respond in time and anyways I am preparing all my documents my self and guiding lawyer also.

Should we wait until my PD becomes current, to try to link our aplications? Is that necessary? Is there any danger that my husband's 485 application might get lost if USCIS denies our request to link his case to mine now since my PD is not current?
Don't know if this matters, but just this week, I got a RFE for employment verification. We have now sent necessary documents as requested by the dept.

They are human beings too like us.
By the way 765 they say compliant till 7/2 which means individually filed 765 not the 765 which was sent with 485 package - Right ?

Not so........According to my lawyer, they just received my I-765 receipt. Ironically my I-765 was filed in conjunction with my I-485 and I-131 applications on July 2nd!!!.....To deepen the mystery, they also received my wife's I-131, which was also part of her I-485 application!!!...... USCIS data entry practices are definitely intriguing to say the least...:confused:

It does not matter who you are working for what matters is where you are living. Let's say there is a theft at your home while living in US, will you call Canadian police or US cops?
If the answer is US cops then the answer is very straight forward, you have to play by the rule of the land where you are living,
there is only one exception
If you work in a Embassy then you are on the autonomous land of the respective country, so if you are planning to work for Canadian Embassy then you will not need any US visa.

I don't think he is here to be tried in public by idiots like you. Why is this site full of self righteous punks who reply back to put others down. I saw similar set of replies for a woman who sought help regarding her status for entering the country without passport from Canada (which was legal pre 9/11) and then divorcing the dude she was married to. Some righteous pricks called her names and gave red dots generously.
Seriously if you don't have constructive advise just keep your mouth shut. Nobody needs you to bring your vigilantism and judgement ion other people. A few too many pricks are the reason a lot of us get turned off of this site.

Name check is not an issue, the IO told me that name check is started soon after receipt of application, and 180 days have passed. There is a new rule that name check cannot delay I485 by more than 180 days.
WOM - the 2 years may have changed, since WOM cases were usually fighting name check. I think that it is probably one for an attorney, so I'll likely consult attorney in May regarding WOM.
Any more comments welcome.

I wonder if MSNBC, CNN, FOX ever covered any of legal immigrants stand against the present immigration mess. I don't see any news about the flower campaign, about visa bulletin fiasco, or even the rallies that we have been doing? The fight has been very strong and unity is finally in place.
Am I missing something here? Most of us sent so many mails to these bigwigs and nobody showed our news and plight on their news?

I know we have to do a lot of work to get coverage but I was just saddened at the behavior of the bigwigs. They know the news and yet chose not to report it.

- We were local KTVU 2 TV channel at prime time
- We have been covered by local print media like Mercury news
- We have interviewed with local radio stations
- We had reporter from Associated Press cover this event
- BusinessWeek wrote an article about us
Mind you this is Silicon valley not some countryside suburb in America.
I encourage you to collect these links and post them in the existing San Jose rally thread so people understand the real breath of media coverage that this rally actually received. Our volunteers are too exhausted from yesterday's event your help will be appreciated.

I applied I-485 in July 2007. But didn't apply for EAD/AP. I applied for EAD for the first time now, few days back and I was asked by my lawyer a check of $340 as application fee.

According to my experience it doesnt make a difference whom you contact. I would suggest contact all (both senators of your state and local congressperson). It has no negative bearing on your case. I would also suggest
that you contact the ombudsman. You never know whats going to click in the end.

Yes, one has to do everything. It helps solve the issue from all directions. It helps educate law makers about issues, also allows Ombudsman's office to understand common issues.
On another note, if anyone is having issues with their petitions and need help, you can also contact IV, send a message or post it on the forum.
