You can contact either of the 2 senators of your state. But need to contact representative corresponding to your district.
But understand that, just because you contact a congressman doesn't mean you miraculously would get your GC. its going to be a long process. Add 3-4 months from the day you contact if the congressional liaison pulls your case for review. If there is a problem with your case they would inform you about it after they review. Note congressman's office cannot tell a federal agency(CIS) what they need to do, they can only inquire on your behalf whats causing the delay. Nothing to do with who is how much powerful.

IV can grow into a very strong organization in these lines being discussed. The best way to do it is to join the IVs State chapters and mobilize the community and do meets and greets and conduct seminars and many other constructive stuff

I did it too and as long as you are with the same company doing the same job as you did when you originally started... GO FOR IT... BEC's are a big mess and they are here to stay... at least for another 2 years (this is just my prediction)

I am with same company since I came (since 2000) and my current LC (RIR, EB3-India) pendng at PEBC, my PD is 06/16/03, I am about to file 8th H1 Ext, My Lawyer is not advising me to convert into PERM, can you suggest/refferer your lawyer?

Thanks very much for your tireless work.
I have some serious questions to you. Hope you will answer them. I fully understand that you are all volunteers. I am not demanding anything; rather this is a request...
1) Does IV working on any temprory EB visa fix for people waiting for 8 years? Or IV is waiting for CIR to happen?
2) A simple one line amendment (that is easily acceptable by the lawmakers) in a must pass bill will fix the problems of long time sufferers. Does IV have anything in its agenda?
3) Does IV beleive in bringing releif to IV members in steps or do you want to solve all members problem in one shot? If the second case is true, is it possible in this economy?
4) Recently many immigration related amendments are debated in congress; not for one bill but during two bills. There was no single amendment that helps the heavily retrogated categories. Why IV is not successful in requesting the lawmakers to bring up an amendment? Is there a single soul (lawmaker) sympathetic to our cause? If money is the only issue, I will donate first and persuade my friends to do the same.
We (me and many of my friends) were once active members right from the early days of IV. We contributed and involved in every IV initiative before. Now we are in the sidelines. I strongly beleive, members like me will be active again once we see any hope. Right now there is none.
We are open to all possibilities in getting relief (big or small) for the community.
You may want to read more about the process of a bill , politics of the immigration issue and how it affects any bill. It is not as simple as one line amendment.
Please get involved with IV and learn more what we are doing. Try getting appointments with your lawmakers and take part in action items. We currently have an action item going. You will know how the process of amendment and bills work. Opening threads asking IV core is not going to help.Help yourself by actively getting involved.

This is all India specific and specific to EB2. I did not add years2006 and 2007 as my PD is in 2005. But I did do it upto dec 2005.
1. You can expect the spill over from EB1 in big way
2. You can expect spillover from EB2 ROW in a big way
This should help clear backlog atleast upto 2004 cases. However the interfiling from EB3 to EB2 could stop the backlog from being reduced.

Hi, For some reason, their employment based insurance rejected their pregnancy coverage. Do you have a link that show that pregnancy is NOT a pre-existing condition in group insurances (Law website or any links?)
her pregnancy is sometime around 6 months now and they will need insurance..

I thought as per the new memo it is advisable to extend your non-immigrant status even if you have filed your AOS and work on EAD.
I know many people who were on H4 and started working as soon as they filed AOS and got EAD's, now in this case there I-94 issued for H4 is still valid.
When their spouse extended their H1B's, they did also extend the H4 petition to get new I-94's.
