According to the EAD, she can work. She has TIN number, but I am not sure if she can use that...

For 140 approval it takes anywhere between 6 to 8 months. Last year, the wait time was less.This is normal and the wait time will keep on increasing. Because last year there was few number of labors approved but as the days pass by that number will keep on increasing. My friend with I140(NSC) applied date of June 2006 was approved last week. My first I140(TSC) applied on Feb 2006 was approved by August 2006 and my second I140(NSC) applied in Sep 2006 is pending till today.
And if you try to break the queue by premium processing then the chances of getting a dumb RFE( A no sense evidence to the case applied) is 99.99% because they want more time to process the case.

Unfortunately many of the IV members think Senior Member is a Core IV member, hence they tend to give importance to post submitted by Senior Members. Large audience over here may not be aware that ....

Both EAD and H1-B are fine. I am on EAD/AP whereas my wife is on H1-B. We dont have any issues and the banks will recognize both. We use JP Morgan Chase.

DATV nationals transiting to Ireland must obtain a visit visa - not a Visitor in Transit visa which is only for transit to a destination outside the Common Travel Area (Rules HC395 paragraph 47 refers).
All visa nationals wishing to transit the UK but spend longer doing so than the 24 hours permitted under the TWOV concession must obtain a visitor in transit visa for stays up to 48 hours or a visit visa.

I did self filing of EAD and AP and sent the docs using USPS express mail. When I checked the status this is what I found
"Status: Notice Left
We attempted to deliver your item at 10:59 AM on July 9, 2008 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. A second delivery attempt will be made. If unsuccessful, we will hold it for five business days and then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later"
So if nobody picks it up after the second delivery they will send it back - Was it a mistake to send by express mail?
Thoughts???
This may be due to Signature Confirmation, Return Receipts, etc. to P.O. Box. They will try to deliver couple of times. Not yet heard mail being returned from USCIS address.
I prefer Delivery Confirmation in case of P.O. Box Addresses.

Great! You will get the actual receipt notice like paper filing in a week. Also FP notice to take a picture for your EAD.
OK i e-filed and it showed Nebraska address generating LIN no's instead of MSC etc , it prompted me where my 485 is and i think since it is at NSC it routed automatically to NSC

I read some posts from the thread you mentioned and i was not able to read it entirely as it was a very long thread. I couldn't figure out what changed with respect to EB2 job zones. I have filed my current perm in EB2 with senior software engineer title and i am not sure what will happen to that. I am in this country for 5 years and still struggling to get my PERM approved (So far i have filed PERM three times :)) Is there anyone in IV who has got their PERM approved with Priority date from DECEMBER 2008 onwards? This will be little encouraging.

There are people like us who are still stuck with PERM and need to hear from fellow IVians if they are aware of the reasons for the PERM delays. My I-94 has expired becoz it was issued up to my passport validity. If I have to renew it, is it a good option to cross border and get a new I-94, like going to Mexico or Canada. Please advice. I am not sure how to proceed. No one knows the procedure. Please if anyone knows, advice.
Do you have an unexpired visa? If so, just traveling out of US and coming back through port-of-entry should do the trick. For best results, try an airline travel. YMMV.
